UPDATE: April 13, 2020
Dear Class of 2020 and Parents:
I’m sure it will come as no surprise that we are sadly and officially postponing the New College Franklin graduation events scheduled for May. We want to be able to celebrate with you all, and that will not be possible at our normal time of year.
Here are a few things to note:
· Provided you have completed all of the necessary graduation requirements (including your Senior Practicum), your official graduation date will be May 9, 2020.
· Your diploma will have the date of May 9, 2020.
We have talked about various ways to celebrate graduation at a later date, and the most logical time seems to be in August in conjunction with the start of the school year—that has the added benefit of including your classmates as part of the ceremony.
However, we would love for you to speak into this plan and not just assume that you all can be here in August. To that end, we would like to schedule a meeting for seniors and your parents as soon as is practical in order to discuss plans and present various options. Expect to hear from us about that meeting soon.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or any concerns, please let Dr. Lemon, Mrs. McCoy, or me know.
It’s a joy to still see you in class and to stay in touch. I truly wish that things were different for the culmination of your time here at NCF, but I know that the Lord is working out His purposes. Blessings on you.
Under the Mercy,

In light of the pandemic Coronavirus/COVID-19, and the recommendations made by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and state and federal officials, New College Franklin will be adjusting its classes for the remainder of the semester.
Beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020, all class meetings will be offered exclusively through teleconferences available online through platforms including Google Meet and Zoom; this will include an option to call into class if students are unable to access the internet or quality is low. Classes will continue to meet at regularly scheduled times, assignments will be completed as per the syllabus for each class, and all documents, class materials, and assessments will be available through Populi, as before.
At this time, we plan to hold graduation exercises on May 9, 2020 as scheduled; however, a final decision will be made at a later date. All other on campus events have been cancelled for the remainder of the semester.
Please note that this is not a transition to online education as technically defined by the Department of Education; it is, however, a change in method of how we offer classroom lecture and discussion. This ensures the quality of the content, and upholds to the best of our ability, the community focus that best describes New College Franklin.
