Professor of Music
Henry C. Haffner, a sixth-generation Franklin native, serves as a senior fellow at New College Franklin. Mr. Haffner graduated from Vanderbilt University, and received his Master of Music degree at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music. As a violist and violinist, he has performed and given masterclasses throughout the South and Midwest. His work can be heard on recordings by artists such as Nathan Clark George, Jim Daneker, Paul Cardall, and Michael W. Smith. His debut album of original music, Southern Psalms, was released in 2018.
In addition to his duties at New College, Mr. Haffner serves as Music Director at Parish Presbyterian Church (Franklin, TN) and Principal Violist of the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra in Lexington, KY. He lives in the country with his wife Lisa, and their children.
